Registration for catechism for children not attending St. Joseph's will take place in the hall after both Masses this weekend. For information, contact Alison Francis, 01463 226511.

Confirmation Class will resume this Monday, 25th August, in the hall at 7.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. For further information, contact Jill Kent, tel. 01463 831342.

St. Ninian's Parish Pastoral Council will meet on Tuesday, 26th August at 7 p.m. in the sacristy. This will be an opportunity for Fr. Stuart to meet the council, to learn more about the parish and to discuss events for the coming months. This is also the Year of Saint Paul. It is hoped to mark this with some occasion for study, discussion and prayer rooted in the writings of St. Paul. This will be raised at the parish council. If anyone has ideas about this, please speak to Fr. Stuart.

The Youth Club meets again on Monday, 1st September in the hall from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Enquiries: Agnes Macdonald, tel. 01463 794510.

The Knights of Saint Columba meet on the first Monday of every month at 7.30 p.m. in the Marian Room at St. Mary's, Inverness

The Catenians meet on the second Monday of each month in the Crown Court Hotel at 7.30 p.m.

A pilgrimage to the Marian shrines of Campsi, Schoenstatt and Carfin is arranged for Monday, 8th September. List of names in St. Ninian's porch or contact Rosa Finlayson 01463 238560.

A message from Father Peter

"I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful and unforgettable farewell on the occasion of my departure from St. Ninian's... the warmth and kindness of parishioners in the many prayers, good wishes, gifts and cards receive and the wonderful total of £4050 in cheques and donations. I have been quite overwhelmed by it all. God Bless. Prayerfully, Fr. Peter."

Sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make Canon Bernard's Diamond Jubilee Mass and the hospitality afterwards so happy and successful. Many thanks and congratulations also to the Confirmation class, who ran a Fun Day to mark Canon Peter's last Sunday and also raised £233.32 for an orphanage in Belize.

Please pray for the sick of the parish, for vocations and for the repose of the souls of Audrey McLean, Joan Gorman, Louis Gordon and Helen Whyte, whose anniversaries occur at this time.

Immaculate Conception, Stratherrick and

St. Peter's & St. Benedict's, Fort Augustus

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Ishbel MacNally, whose funeral took place at the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday. Pray also for her family, that the Lord will be close to them at this time.

Deanery and Diocesan News

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Pluscarden, for everyone, with special emphasis on the Polish community, takes place this Sunday, 24th August. The pilgrimage walk from Elgin begins at 11 a.m. There will be Exposition, Confession and refreshments from 1 p.m, with a bilingual Mass of Our Lady of Czestochowa at 3 p.m. All welcome.

In aid of the building funds, St. Columba's church is holding at Prize Bingo evening in Duncan Forbes School Hall on Friday 5th September at 7 p.m. Entry £2 includes refreshments. Books £5. Donatinos of prizes gratefully received . All welcome. Contact Don Williams 01463 791332.

From Fr. Stuart

Thank you for your warm welcome in my first few days as your new parish priest. I look forward to getting to know you and to working with these three parishes. The new linkage of St. Ninian's with Stratherrick and Fort Augustus has necessitated some changes. Apologies if these have caused you incovenience.
